Our aviary was built in the summer and fall of 2009. It is fully insulated with temperature and humidity control. The lighting system is full spectrum and on timers.
I designed and built it myself, with the help of my Father-In-Law Dave. Many thanks go out to him as I would not have had it finished by the time the weather turned if it was not for him.
I have plans to expand it next year, as well as building a seperate flight building to community breed my Cockatiels and Australian Parakeets. I am also planning outdoor flights off of the main building for the larger birds.
Like always, if I could start over, I would have built it larger, but I am quite happy with it as it is the ideal place to house birds and still have a happy wife.
